Ten Steps

Ten More Painful steps to freedom…

Blood snaking down from the blade-cuts on my hand.
On this world no more do I want to stand.
No more fears, pains or tears
As my end on this world nears.

Nine more steps

I think back to the life I led
The lack of happiness. The sorrow. I am drained,
Fed up of life. I want to quit- to run away to that perfect, endless, azure sky.

Eight more steps

Should parents be alcoholics?
Should they be drug addicts?
They thrashed me, then went separate ways,
Leaving my soul to decay.

Seven more steps

I thought he was an angel
Who was sent to help me from heaven,
To soothe me during dire times,
To lead me out of my parents crimes.

But good things come as quickly as they go

Six more steps

But that accident- the worst ever
Made you leave me to face my endeavors.
The only person who ever loved me
Again, Left me in this world so scary.

Five more steps

Then came betrayal- a feeling indescribable.
The only 'friends' I had, left me.
Deceit- giving off its nasty vibes
Left me to shrivel up inside.

Four more steps

This Nostalgia is overpowering.
Right now, I can feel the wind kissing my long black tresses.
Everything I had in this world gone…
Somewhere faraway I hear a solitary song.

Three more steps

So much happens in the blink of an eye
Possibilities reach out to that endless sky.
They say anything is possible.
But both hopes and possibilities are plausible.

Two more steps

I look up at the starry sky
A shooting star streaks elegantly by.
I have wished upon them many-a-times
But wishes hardly come true.

One more step.

I still make one more wish
That when I go, I'll have someone to kiss;
Someone to hug,
Someone who who'll give me all their love.

I look up.
The sky is so vast.

Plausible hopes.
Deceptive friends.
Star-crossed love.
A charred childhood.

My grief is too great; too unbearable.

My time is here.
I look ten-storeys down,
The pavement seemingly deserted.
At this moment, death seems so appealing.
So inviting.
So delightful.

A Good life waiting for me.

So…

I Jump.
I wrote this poem one year ago...
I do not have any emotional connection to it.

One bored school day, i was trying to put myself in someone elses shoes, who was in the same circumstances as the girl in the poem... it was then that this idea dawned on me.
